Yes, I know it has been a very long while. Life has just been super busy. 


My mission papers have been in for a week. 


My team won the Spanish Fork women's league championship. 

I have a new nephew, Nikolas Cannon Jensen. He is just so adorable. 

My sister got married and I made her bouquet.  I'll have to post a picture when I get one.

I can't get a job for the life of me. Apparently nobody wants to hire a soon to be missionary. 

Brin and I bought baby octopus on our first trip to Winco.

I made a four layer german chocolate cake for Father's Day.

I got the worst sunburn of my life last week...it peeled layers. It was terrible.

I'm living with Brindley this summer. We have a pretty sweet pad in my parents barn. We don't have many toys around so my niece plays with my rain boots.

I made Captain America cookies for the fourth of July.

Some of them came out a little vintage. Just how my dad likes them.

Oh and my sister Emily is moving out here in a week which means my nephew will be here too! 

Easter and French Macarons

   

Yes, I really do have the cutest niece ever! I absolutely love her. We lost our indoor game on Thursday and the only way I could calm down was to tell myself stories about her. I really need to take intramurals a little less seriously. We have the outdoor final tomorrow though...in all fairness I won't be able to play for a year and a half and Lance and Seth will be far far away by then. Anyway, Roo Boo is adorable and it was so much fun watching her on the Easter egg hunt and playing with bubbles after.   

I made French Macarons for Easter...They were...yeah. Let's just say that they weren't quite what I was expecting and they definitely didn't turn out like the pictures. It was a good experience regardless and I'll probably try them again when it isn't two in the morning and I'm not tired from a week full of soccer games. 

I hope they call me on a mission!

I am so close to turning my papers in! I just have to talk to the bishop and stake president and then we'll be GOLDEN! Hopefully that will all go down before I leave Logan in a week and a half. Life is moving so quickly! Make sure you live, love, laugh, and read your scriptures. XOXO

Today

Today I was the latest I had ever been to History. Today Institute was awesome because it always is. Today Stats was boring. Today in Archaeology of North America I thought about how mountains became valleys and valleys became mountains  and great cities were sunk and burned when Christ died and how that is probably one of the reasons why it's hard to find Archaeological evidence from early times in North America. It was a deep class for me. Today I played outdoor soccer. It was beautiful. Today I made salmon for dinner and rice crispy treats for game night. Today I was a miner, a miner, and a saboteur. Today I watched people *bang each other. I wasn't up for banging today. Today I did a lot, but the greatest thing I did was...ready for it? Today I started my mission papers!!! Today I also realized that I absolutely despise already packaged lunch meat. It is absolutely dreadful.

*Bang is an Italian card game that consists of a Sheriff, Vices, Outlaws, and Renegades.

Just Another Construction Paper Craft

I love Xavi...Puyol...Pique... Messi...FC Barcelona. Spanish soccer is a beautiful thing. It's a game of passing with eloquence. I have never been so fascinated with a team passing as when I watch the Spanish National team/Barcelona play. It's smooth, quick, easy...they can get in three or four passes where a normal team would only get in one. Xavi. I'm totally in love with him. He is like this calm on the field that I can't get enough of. Xavi, where is Xavi? And I panic when he's not on the field, but when he's there it's like no biggie we've got this game. He's a football romantic and it's the best thing ever. Read one of his interviews and you'll understand (this one is pretty great).  Now Barcelona just needs to get rid of Villa. He's to scrappy of a player. Yeah he's Spanish, but he doesn't play like he is. Sure he gets goals, but they aren't pretty in fact they are usually quite ugly. He plays awkward and I really don't care for him. Fernando Torres on the other hand is a really beauty. If they could get him it would be a whole different story. Also I would really like to see Sergio Ramos out there on their defense. He's another one of the Spanish power houses. The days of Real Madrid are over and the days of Barcelona have already begun.This one goes out to my team FC Barcelona. Congrats on beating Arsenal. And yes, it is hanging on my wall right now.

Obsession, thy name is World Cup

What a clever title eh? Truth be told, I'm not that clever and copied it from a friend's facebook post. Well Kenny here's to you. World Cup 2010 kicked off nicely on Friday and guess who was working and didn't watch the first games. No, not Richard Simmons... I have no idea what he was doing on Friday. It was me! I'm not too terribly bummed because there are a whole heck of a lot of games. The USA played England on Saturday and ooh-ooh, I think we have the most attractive team out there. Not a single ugly player on the roster. We didn't do too bad and came off with a 1-1 tie. Did you know that we've never lost to England? That's right. We even beat them in a 1950 World Cup game. True story. Oh boy, let's talk about England's Keeper, Robert Green. He'll never live down that goal. Clint Dempsey fires the ball from outside of the 18 and it goes right to Green's hands only to shoot off and fly into the net. You've got to watch it, oh pathetic.        

Now whenever a goalie pulls a stupid they're going to be called a Green. "Hey nice one Green." or  "You're such a Greenie." Poor guy... but not really because it gave us the tie. That being said, I love Clint Dempsey. I also love Landon Donavon. It wasn't a remarkable game for him but goodness that man is American soccer. Oguchi Onyewu (On-yay-woo) is such a stud. I must admit that his beard is pretty terrible but still the man had an amazing game. Tim Howard is a brilliant keeper and kept the English at bay for almost all of the game. I also want to give a shout out to our boy Robbie Findley from RSL. He started and finished the game. Let's just say that we have a very talented team and we have the potential to go far and win, but we lack intensity. If we played every game like we played against Spain in the FIFA Confederations Cup, then we could seriously whoop every team to a pulp. Of course my support is all behind the USA, but if we fail then I support Spain. With Sergio Ramos, Fernando Torres and so much other talent... they're fantastic.

Ooh I finally got new kicks last night. www.eastbay.com is the place to go for inexpensive cleats. I got $100 cleats for $55! They're Mercurial Talarias and  everywhere else was selling them for 69.99-79.99, but eastbay had them for 59.99. They were having a sale and so I got an additional 20% off. That was $55 including shipping and handling. They should be getting here around Friday hopefully. I'll be going back up to Logan for a visit and it would be sweet if I could take them along for a pickup game. I'm a little worried because I got a size 7 and I'm really hoping that they will be a perfect fit. Also they are white with orange and silver. I'm not an orange person usually. In fact I don't think I own any orange at all. The thing is that they really called to me and I couldn't even think of buying another pair.

Last night I watch The Young Victoria with my mum and it was fabulous. I thought Emily Blunt and Rupert Friend fit the parts of Victorian and Albert better than anyone else could have. They even looked similar. Oh my and I loved the dresses and hats. My mama says that I was born in the wrong time. Today's fashion isn't half so beautiful as the past was. Granted I would have to be a queen or rich lady to really enjoy it. But of course that's just what I would be right? ;) I really love the off shoulder cut of the dresses and the sleeves.
